CBI Arrest Postal SI For Accepting Rs 15,000 Bribe In Odisha's Rairangpur

Bhubaneswar: The CBI today arrested a postal department inspector on bribery charges. The postal employee in question, Sanjit Kumar Behera is posted as the Sub-Divisional Inspector (Postal) at Rairangpur. The sleuths held him red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.

According to the CBI, Behera had demanded the said amount from a person for forwarding his application for Combined Duty Allowance to the Superintendent of Posts. "On negotiation, the accused agreed to accept Rs 15,000 as bribe from the complainant and the remaining amount of Rs 5,000 later on," the Agency stated.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant. Behera will be produced in the Special CBI Court in here on Wednesday.
