Bhubaneswar: It can be expected that the annual matric examinations will be held on the third week of February, said the State Minister of School and Mass Education Samir Ranjan Dash today.
Briefing the media, Dash said, “As has become the usual norm, we can expect the exams to begin from the third week of February. Will wait for the BSE to follow its procedure and announce the dates.”
The annual matric examination is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) which comes under the Ministry of School and Mass Education.
Speaking on the issues which emanated last year concerning malpractices, the Education Minister said that the board and the ministry are making sure they are not repeated this year. “We are also reviewing the examination centre related issues which we faced last year. We will make sure that this does not get repeated this time. If any problem surfaces, we are making arrangements that the centre will be shifted to another nearby examination centre,” said the Minister.
He ended by saying, “There has to an overall growth of students’ knowledge and then make sure that the pupils work towards betterment of their marks in the upcoming board exams.”
