BSF Personnel Leaves 60 INSAS Bullets Unattended In Train

13 August 2019

Koraput: In a faux pas which could have turned serious, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Border Security Force missed a large quantity of ammunition in a train. The ASI in question was travelling from Vishakhapatnam to Koraput.

While deboarding the train at Koraput, he left three pouches which contained total 60 rounds of 5.56 mm INSAS rifle bullets.

Soon after he realised the blunder, the ASI reported the matter to local RPF which dispatched a search party. Fortunately, the INSAS magazines were located in the same berth where he was seated.

The ammunition was handed over to the BSF personnel after proper verification of his identity. The RPF Station in-charge at Jeypore has reported the matter senior BSF officials.
