BSF Jawan Injured In IED Blast In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: A jawan of Border Security Force (BSF) was injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast near Gobindapalli ghat on Malkangiri-Jeypore road here today morning. The injured personnel has been identified as Jagtar Singh of 13 Battalion.

The blast took place at 11:20 am when a combing operation was reportedly underway in the area. Sources said that Maoists had suspected movement of security personnel and had planted the IED accordingly.

Singh has sustained splinter injury in his right ankle and after first aid, he was rushed to Koraput District Hospital for treatment.
