Bhubaneswar: The British Council has proposed to start an English Learning Centre at SAI International School in Bhubaneswar to support language enhancement training to students, young adults, teachers and professionals of Odisha.
British Council India Director Barbara Wickham OBE flagged off her maiden Official Tour of the Eastern and North-Eastern India with a visit to SAI on Friday. She was accompanied by East and North-East India Director Debanjan Chakrabarti and Coordinating Officer Paramita Choudhury from the British Council.
During her visit she spoke to the senior students about higher education opportunities in the UK and highly appreciated the kind of partnership that SAI has with the Council. The visiting team discussed about strengthening the decade long relationship with SAI through various new programmes.
The team discussed about various collaborative activities at SAI International School with Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Founder SAI International Education Group and Advisor, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan and Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Vice Chairperson.
Wickham was highly impressed with the School’s pioneering effort for the holistic development of students including enhancing their knowledge horizon on the global dimension as well as culture and heritage. She also commended the partnership with British Council and promised to take this partnership to greater heights with more engagement at teacher and student level for the advancement of education.
