07 December 2019

Bolangir: A woman has gone absconding after duping residents of Gandhi Nagar Para in Bolangir Town of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing jobs and residential plots. A complaint in this regard was lodged at Town Police Station on Friday.

Reportedly, Karunakar Nayak and wife Arati Nayak of Purusottampur village under Badaghumuri panchayat in Badachana police limits of Jajpur district were staying at Gandhi Nagar Para of Bolangir Town for the last three years.

In the beginning Arati used to do petty jobs in the area to earn her livelihood. Gradually she earned the trust of the local residents and later collected lakhs of rupees from people promising them of providing jobs and residential plots.

Instead of keeping her promise, Arati and her family suddenly vacated the rented house they were staying in. Finding no other option, the duped residents lodged a complaint at Town Police Station.

After conducting a preliminary investigation Town Police Station IIC Sangram Keshari Pattnaik informed that Arati is a history-sheeter and further probe into the case is underway.
