Bhubaneswar: While BJD supremo-cum-Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already filed his nomination papers for his traditional assembly constituency Hinjili in Ganjam district, BJP today fielded its state party spokesperson Pitamber Acharya vis-à-vis Naveen Patnaik for the Hinjili seat.
BJP today (March 25) decided that its state party spokesperson Pitambar Acharya will be in the fray from Hinjili Assembly constituency under Aska Lok Sabha segment in Ganjam district of southern Odisha. Thus, lawyer-turned-politician Pitamber Acharya has now been pitted against BJD president and consecutively four-time Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik from his home turf Hinjili constituency.
Notably, Naveen Patnaik has already filed his nomination for the assembly segment for successive fifth time at Chatrapur Sub-Collector’s office on March 20.
Besides, the BJD supremo today filed his nomination papers from his second assembly seat Bijepur under Bargarh Lok Sabha seat in western Odisha. Naveen is doing it for the first time. Never had he filed nominations from any second seat during his four-time tenure as Odisha Chief Minister.
