Bhubaneswar: The murder case of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Khurda Mandal President Manguli Jena has been handed over to Odisha Crime Branch, informed DG BK Sharma on Tuesday.

Considering the importance of the case and time constraint of district police, the case was handed over to the Crime Branch which can probe it dedicatedly, said Sharma.

He informed that a team of Crime Branch under Investigation Officer DSP Pramod Rath has already reached Khurda. The team will be assisted by a cyber team of the Crime Branch already stationed at Khurda.

The entire investigation will be supervised by Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra while district police along with IG (Central Range) Soumendra Priyadarshi, who was earlier in charge of the case, will support the Crime Branch and provide their local resources to the team for quick disposal of the case, said Sharma.

Meanwhile, Priyadarshi informed that the district police have detained two persons for interrogation and they will provide their full support to the Crime Branch team.
