Bhubaneswar: The BJP activists staged a demonstration near the State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar alleging irregularities in paddy procurement across the mandis in the State. When the activists were trying to gherao the Secretariat by breaking the police barricade, there was a clash with the police present there.

The Commissionerate Police had taken adequate steps for a peaceful rally by BJP at Housing Board.

“40 platoons of police force have been deployed for maintaining law and order situation. We are alert for any untoward incidents,” informed CP Satyajit Mohanty.
