BJD Suspends Youth Leader For Saheed Nagar PS Vandalism

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik suspended vice-president of Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) Prakash Tripathy on Saturday after he was arrested in connection with the ransacking of Saheed Nagar police station and attack on cops.

Patnaik suspended Tripathy from his post as BYJD vice-president and also from the primary membership of BJD, informed BYJD president Amaresh Patri.

On the evening of March 3, a group of youths had attacked the cops, including the IIC and ASI, and had vandalised the Saheed Nagar police station.

While five accused had already been arrested in the incident, Prakash was nabbed today.
