**Bhubaneswar: ** Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has decided to launch its ‘Gharey Gharey Shankha: Matamata Diyanti Apana, Palana Karanti Naveen’ (Conch in every house: Opinion by you, Naveen complies) from March 5 – the 103 birth anniversary of BJD idol-cum-legendary statesman Biju Babu.
The new mission of the party will be launched by BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on the occasion.
Addressing a press meet at BJD party headquarters here today, senior MLA and BJD general secretary Arun Sahu, Biju Mahila Janata Dal president Minati Behera, BJD general secretary (Media Affairs) Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, party spokesperson Sasmit Patra and general secretary Bijay Nayak announced this.
They informed that this new mission will be spread across Odisha at every household by the women brigade of Biju Mahila Janata Dal.
The party stated that this new mission will be launched in a bid to feel the pulse and gauge the mood of the people of Odisha as well as take up the opinions and advice of the people to expedite further the ongoing development of the State.
It was also stated that every party is at present preparing manifesto for the upcoming general elections. But, the people of Odisha play the pivotal role in drafting BJD’s manifesto.
The party at its presser averred that BJD Government soon after being sworn in after the 2014 elections had set an example in the entire country by adopting its manifesto as a resolution at its new government’s first meeting of Council of Ministers then.
It was also claimed that the promises that had been given in the manifesto have not only been fulfilled in true letter and spirit, but also more developmental activities have been undertaken. The programmes and schemes being implemented by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik are for all and for all categories of people of Odisha.
