Bhubaneswar: In a bid to counter BJP's agitation to lock down employment exchanges in Odisha, the students and youth wings of ruling BJD today announced to hold State-wide demonstration in front of all Central Goverment offices on November 5, 6 and 8.

Convening a press meet at the State Party Headquarters here, senior MLA and BJD general secretary Sanjay Kumar Dasburma said, “In order to protest against the anti-people and anti-Odisha policy of the Centre, our Students and Youth wings will hold demonstration before all the Central Government-run PSUs across Odisha on November 5, 6 and 8.”

“We’ll demand employment for our Odisha boys and girls. The incumbent Central Government had promised that and voted to power. Now we demand that the promise should be kept in true letter and spirit,” he stated.

He further stated, “The Central Government has failed to perform its duty of federalism. Odisha has not been included in the industrial corridor.”

“The Centre’s promise to provide employment opportunities to 2 crore youths per year has proved to be a blatant lie. In the last 4 and half years, 9 crore youths should have availed the employment opportunies as per the promise. Hence, 36 lakh unemployed youths of Odisha should have got job opportunities by now,” he argued.

He demanded, “The Central Government should formally publish a list to prove how many unemployed youths of Odisha have been employed by its PSUs.”
