Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal today trained guns at the BJP for utilising NALCO money in election campaigns. According to BJD, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is conspiring to kill the AAHAR scheme of Government of Odisha.

MCL, SAIL and NALCO had signed MoUs with Odisha Government to finance the AAHAR scheme under their CSR scheme. However, it was under Pradhan’s directive these companies withdrew from the agreement, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra said.

“Millions of people of Odisha are reaping the benefits of the AAHAR scheme with 5 rupees meal on a daily basis. This was a noble idea of the Chief Minister which was extremely humanitarian. BJP and specifically the Union Minister played dirty politics to derail the scheme but he failed,” Patra added.

BJP on the other hand demanded a proof over Pradhan’s involvement in the issue. “The AAHAR scheme is running and people are being benefitted. Where  is Dharmendra Pradhan’s involvement. If BJD says so, it should come with proof,” BJP spokesperson Samir Mohanty said.
