Bhubaneswar: The Youth and students wing of Biju Janata Dal today organised staged agitation in Koraput and Ganjam districts over rising unemployment in Public Sector Undertakings operated by the Central Government.

The agitators said that BJP had promised in 2014 that every year 2 crore youths would get employment. In that proportion at least 30 lakh youths should have got employment every year.

"In the past four years, the BJP has failed to keep its promises and adopted a step-motherly attitude for Odisha. We are holding the protest to send the message to the Centre to employ more Odia candidates in PSUs," a protester said.

On the other hand, the youth wing of BJP staged an agitation in Bhubaneswar alleging that the BJD has betrayed Odia youths with the promise of employment through 'job melas'.
