BJD's Membership Drive Extended By 21 Days

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) believes in the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi whose primary purpose of life was service to mankind, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said. On similar lines, the regional party is inspired by the words and actions party's patron, the legendary Biju Patnaik who dedicated his life for the upliftment and dignity of Odia people, the BJD president said here on Thursday.

Addressing the party workers at two separate programmes - Jan Sampark Padyatra and Membership Drive, Naveen said that BJD members should draw inspiration from these two great leaders of the country and commit themselves to service. Naveen urged his party's men and women join the 'Odisha - Mo Paribar' programme in large numbers and make this a success in the coming days.

On the occasion, the party leaders assessed and strengthened the membership drive of BJD. Senior BJD leader Debi Mishra said that their target is to touch the one crore mark by the end of this drive. Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Jajpur have performed very well in adding new members. The observers of 30 districts and presidents of 31 organisational districts joined the meeting today, said Mishra.

BJD Leader Sanjay Dasburma informed that the party president has extended the membership drive by 21 days. We have already crossed 48 lakh (members). "The BJD president has directed members to focus on a few districts and expedite the membership drive effectively," he said.
