Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today made it clear that his regional party is not one among the parties forming ‘Mahagathbandhan’ ahead of the general elections this year.

In his media reactions today, the regional satrap made it clear, “So far the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ is concerned, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is not a part of it.”

“We continue with our policy of equidistance from Congress and the BJP,” he asserted.

Notably, he had said yesterday at New Delhi on the sidelines of BJD’s “Krushak Adhikar Samabesh” that he wanted more time to decide on joining “Mahagathbandhan”, the grand alliance of opposition parties, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Naveen Patnaik had told reporters yesterday at the national capital city, "As far as Mahagathbandhan is concerned, we will take some time and think it over."
