Bhubaneswar: As BJP’s Odisha face and Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today alleged that the Odisha Government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday made false claims of having kept all the promises made in BJD’s 2014 election manifesto, ruling BJD counter-fired and dubbed Dharmendra as a ‘habitual liar’.

In response to Pradhan’s allegations made at a press meet here earlier in the day, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra hit back, “Has Dharmendra Babu the guts to reply on the manifestoes BJP had put forth at the national and State level along with their implementations? He (Dharmendra Pradhan) is famous as a habitual liar. And today also he has told lies on many matters.”

He burst, “BJP’s first great lie told to the people of Odisha is the Special Category Status promise. Hadn’t BJP placed it as the number one promise in their manifesto? Why are the BJP and Dharmendra Pradhan so scared of confessing before the people that they utterly failed to accord special category status to Odisha despite the promise made?”

Notably, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today targeted Odisha Government over Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's poll manifesto claims made yesterday during the Council of Ministers meeting. Convening a press meet, Pradhan questioned BJD-led Odisha Government, “Where did you get the money for constructing 20 lakh houses in the last five years as claimed? Out of the figure, 17 lakh houses have been built from Central funds. That has been named as Biju Pucca Ghara under the Mo Ghara Yojana.”

“In the last three budgets, you (Odisha Government) haven’t made a single pie of budgetary allocation for this Pucca Ghara Yojana,” he argued.

He also argued, “On the drinking water supply point, it was promised that all the villages will be supplied with piped water. This is the month of March, let alone April, May and June. Today too in Odisha, women of 70% of the villages are undergoing harrowing experience for collecting a drop of drinking water. This scene is crystal clear.”
