Bhubaneswar: A day after BJP’s Odisha poster boy and Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan castigated BJD Government’s Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana’s remarkable performance as claimed by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, senior BJD leader and Health Minister Pratap Jena came down heavily on its political bête noire.

In his media reactions, the Odisha Health Minister hit back, “I don’t deem it proper to keep my statement against the leader from the party who has a ‘jumla sarkar’ and has never kept promises given during the election.” “Since August 15 till date, over one crore cases have been benefitted by our State Government. It implies the patients would have gained twice, thrice or OPD benefit or IPD benefit. One could witness our Hon’ble Chief Minister’s video in this regard,” he argued.

The Health Minister remarked, “Hence, challenging such an achievement is good for nothing. BJP’s anxiety over Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana is only an outcome of its jealousness. Because, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana is providing 100 times more benefit than that of the Central scheme.”

The video released by Dharmendra Pradhan says, “An advertisement and the Chief Minister’s statement has ignited a raging debate in Odisha. The matter is extremely indiscernible.”

He has argued, “One crore people have never gone to the various government hospitals in Odisha in a year. How could you (BJD Govt) provide healthcare facilities to 1.10 crore people in two months? If you treat common cold, headache, stomachache, loose motion, cough, etc as medical treatment claimed by you, I’m helpless.”

“Today also I appeal. Let politics be at its place. Take up seriously the responsibility of healthcare to be provided to 4.5 crore people of Odisha,” quipped Dharmendra Pradhan in his video.
