Bhubaneswar: A day after the C-voter Survey Poll findings, Odisha political leaders, especially ruling BJD and main opposition Congress pooh-poohed the projections.

The survey has found out that BJD may suffer huge set back and the grand alliance could deprive NDA of majority. In Odisha Lok Sabha seat context, it has been projected that BJP-led NDA will wrest 12 seats (at present 1) out of the total 21 while BJD 6 (at present 20) and Congress-led UPA 3 seats.

In his media reactions, senior MLA and BJD spokesperson Arun Sahoo argued, “When ABP C-Voter had surveyed in 2014, it had predicted that BJP would win 10 Lok Sabha seats, Congress 2 and BJD 9 seats. Hence, its prediction was proved to be absolutely wrong.”

“They are collecting a very small amount of samples. I feel it to be a sponsored survey,” he remarked.

He stated, “Different political parties are now busy with their various activities. BJD’s Jansampark Padayatra is on. BJP is also carrying on some of their activities. Congress party also. But, it is being observed that thousands of people are attending the programmes of BJD at the Panchayat, Block and district levels. This has strengthened BJD to a large extent.”

Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra said, “The survey report, published in the newspapers and electronic media, is sometimes correct while sometimes wrong. Hence, time will say how far this prediction is right or wrong.”

“If an agency states that Congress is on a rising, I thank it. But I don’t agree with it. I’m unable to accept easily the analysis being made and the survey report being published. May be correct in future, but in today’s context, I don’t accept it,” he commented.

On the other hand, BJP national secretary Suresh Pujari said, “The statistics published by C-Voter has given 5-6 seats to BJD. It’s the second survey. There will be third and fourth survey. I feel that BJD will be nil by the final survey before elections.”
