Bhubaneswar: A day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, during a poll campaign in Ganjam, slammed the BJP for "false promises" and neglecting Odisha on repeated occasions, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra opined perhaps not a single leader of the saffron party is courageous enough to answer the questions put forth by Patnaik.

Reiterating Patnaik's statement, Patra said that BJP should answer the questions as they have gone desperate and trying to turn their eyes over the primary issues such as cyclones and droughts and swarming Odisha to campaign during elections.

BJP had promised to grant special category status to Odisha, but now there is no answer with BJP on fulfillment of its promise. The BJP remained silent over Mahanadi, Polavaram and 33 per cent reservation for women, which clearly depicts that the party knows well publicity stunts but not concerned about Odisha's real development, alleged Patra.

In reply, BJP State vice-president Sameer Mohanty said the Centre has provided 10 times of support sought by the State during natural calamities. Besides, the Union Ministers have always answered the queries during arrival to the State and have also put forth some questions to the State Government.
