Bhubaneswar: Close on the heels of assault on a journalist in a movie theatre in Bhubaneswar, another such incident was reported from another cinema hall of Odisha’s capital city. A youth named Sujan Das of Dumduma area allegedly thrashed a girl with belt after an argument ensued between both of them at the parking area of the movie theatre on Mondya evening.

As per sources, the girl was there with two of her friends when the motorcycle of the youth got shoved against her two-wheeler. An argument ensued and Sujan took out his belt and thrashed her.

Talking to mediapersons, DCP Anup Sahoo said, “Such incidents will be reviewed and Commissionerate Police will held meetings with the various cinema hall owners regarding the strengthening of internal security so that such incidents will be prevented. We will also ask them to employ private security.”

Worth mentioning, a city based journalist was thrashed on Saturday by three youths as he protested against their indecent behaviour at a cinema hall under Saheed Nagar Police limits. The accused trio were arrested on Sunday after a delegation of journalists met DGP RP Sharma demanding stringent action in this matter.
