Bhubaneswar: Simultaneous raids were conducted at five places in Bhubaneswar associated with Gayatri Tripathy, a teacher in Saintala upper primary School and her husband Jagdish Patnaik, who is an auditor in the Higher Education department.

The raid was conducted by officials of Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division on Thursday on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. Apart from their main residence in Bhubaneswar, raids were also conducted near AIIMS, Dumduma and Panchasakhanagar (where Gayatri's brother resides).

Important documents, cash over Rs 70 lakh, jewelry and ornaments, passbook and ATM cards had been seized from their possession. The total value of assets in possession of the couple is yet to be calculated by the team.
