Bhubaneswar: She came, she saw, she fought, she conquered. Bureaucrat-turned politician Aparajita Sarangi victory has brought the prestigious Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat in BJP's kitty.

Sarangi's political career has just started. She is barely 6 months old in political and has managed to pull a convincing win in the Lok Sabha elections.

OMMCOM NEWS spoke to Sarangi about how electoral victory tastes and what will be her initial challenges and opportunities in the maiden parliamentary stint. The excerpts....

"It is people's victory and I am extremely delighted to it," she said with a beaming smile. Sarangi was humble enought to say, being an amateur in politics she was yet to identify her roles and responsibilities as a parliamentarian.

"I will take some time to assess my scope, roles, authority and opportunities as an elected representative. And then I will prepare a chart of action."

"The scale of victory that I could achieve has crossed my expectations. In this short span I did all within my limits to connect with the constituents. However, I never expected that people would usher so much love and affection," she added.

Her priority in the foreseeable future will be to present the issues of Odisha and my constituency before Lok Sabha in the best workable manner.

Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's catchline - 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', she said, governance and development will be inclusive taking everyone and each assembly constituency together.
