Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate has decided to change its motto 'We Care - We Dare' as the public is perhaps not able to understand its meaning, said Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Wednesday.

Sarangi informed that the meaning of the motto is 'we care for people and we dare criminals' but we are going to change it to 'Ama Police - Ama Suraksha'.

"I hope we will be able to build more public trust in the department in 2020 and resolve their various issues adequately," said Sarangi while adding that there is a need to build a good police-public relationship.

He mooted that if an anti-police ideology is created in the mind of a child from the day it is born and if such children hear stories that are negative about police, how are they going to trust the police.

While stating that mass media has also an important role in establishing police-public relationship, Sarangi wished all a Happy New Year.
