Bhubaneswar Airport Director Urges Caution Over Use Of Fire Crackers

Bhubaneswar: In view of the safety of passengers and aircraft operations during this Diwali, Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), SC Hota, today urged public not to use any light signals or crackers within 20 kilometres from an aircraft.

Through a communiqué released by BPIA, Hota stated the indiscriminate use of fire crackers, rocket bombs and laser beams within vicinity of the Airport may endanger aircraft operations.

"We appeal to one and all, to desist from using any light signals or crackers which go up in the air including Akash Deep to protect the safety of aircraft and passenger within 20 kms from aircraft," the communiqué read.
