Bhubaneswar ACP’s Minor Son Commits Suicide

Bhubaneswar: A 12-year-old boy Ayush Satpathy allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his room at Nayapalli here late on Saturday night.

Ayush was the son of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sanjeev Satpathy and a student of Std VII. Satpathy is posted at the Commissionerate of Police as the in-charge of Special Squad, Bhubaneswar.

Ayush’s body was hanging from a ceiling fan in his room and spotted by his parents today morning. The family was residing in police colony here at Nayapalli area.

While family members said that things were normal at home last night, the reason, why the minor boy resorted to the extreme step, is yet to be ascertained.

Nayapalli police, along with a forensic team have arrived at Satpathy’s official quarter and initiated an investigation. Police have also seized a mobile phone which was being used by Ayush, said sources.
