Bhubaneswar: The Home Department of the Odisha government has issued an advisory for security arrangements for Lok Seva Bhawan and other government offices in view of the nationwide general strike tomorrow.

The department has issued a letter to all Additional Chief Secretaries/Principal Secretaries/Commissioner-cum-Secretaries/Special Secretaries in this regard.

In the letter, it has been advised that the officers and the employees of departments working in Lok Seva, Kharavela Bhawan, Rajiv Bhawan and the Heads of the Department Building reach office latest by 9.30 AM to facilitate their smooth entry.

It further says that the front gates of the Lok Seva, will be closed at 10.15 AM on Wednesday and all passage will be regulated through the rear gate. The connecting gate between the Red Building and Main Lok Seva Bhawan building will remain open.

Moreover, security check of identity cards and passes of the employees and visitors will be intensified and traveling in a vehicle having car pass will not be permitted without valid authority for entry.

The Home Department in a separate letter to all Collectors and District Magistrates has requested to take all preventive measures to maintain law and order and to ensure maintenance of essential services in their respective districts.

The letter has further asked the Collectors to instruct officers and staff of the district to attend office by 9.30 AM in view of the nationwide strike Central trade unions on Wednesday.
