Ganjam Bus Mishap: CM Announces Rs 2 Lakh Ex-Gratia To Deceased's Kin

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday expressed deep grief and sorrow at the loss of the lives in a tragic road accident near Taptapani Ghati in Ganjam district and announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia to the next-of-kin of the deceased.

Patnaik conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved families and also instructed Ganjam Collector and SP to expedite the relief and rescue operation.

Four fire fighting teams from Digapahandi, Mohana, Paralakhemundi and Berhampur along with police personnel are working on war footing to rescue the persons trapped inside the bus.

As per last reports, eight passengers have been killed in the mishap. The injured are presently undergoing treatment at Digapahandi Hospital and MKCG Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur.
