Puri: Even though he brags of himself being a staunch and die hard Biju loyalist, veteran protégé of legendary Biju Babu Damodar Rout amazingly opted for distancing himself from his dear BJD’s 20th Birth Anniversary celebration in Puri.

Such a queer development was marked on Tuesday in the wake of his recent dismissal from Odisha Council of Ministers followed by his embarrassing removal from the ruling party’s posts of vice-president and Dhenkanal district party observer.

Talking to media off the record at Bhubaneswar, the seasoned politician rued that it would deeply hurt his sentiment when he would sit below the dais after his dismissal as party vice-president.

On the other hand, his son Sambit Routray commented, “Eye doesn’t get whatever wishes, mind should also follow the suit. You all know the matter. No qualms. The decision is of the party president. No regrets or complaints. It all happens in politics. No one raises question on the party supremo’s decision.”

To a media query about his representation in place of his father, pat came his reply, “I’m here present as a disciplined party worker and as I adore Naveen Babu from the depth of my core. I have not represented my father here as his political scion.”

“My father is still a loyal lietenant of BJD. Loves Naveen Babu a lot. Wishes and blesses him to rule long,” Sambit added.

He further added, “I’ve come here with 1800 party workers under the instruction of Dama Babu as I had been busy in his assembly constituency for the last two days.”

“Love Biju Babu since my childhood and also love Naveen Babu very much. So there is no inhibitions or hiccups,” Sambit remarked.
