Around Rs 28.5 Lakh Looted From Two Separate Places In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Cash amounting to around Rs 28.5 lakh was looted at gunpoint from two separate places in Odisha on Thursday.

Reportedly, five businessmen from Kharagpur in West Bengal were on their way to Chandikhol in a Scorpio. It was when they reached Laxmannath in Jaleswar a group of miscreants followed them in another Scorpio and intercepted their vehicle near Mirchi Masala restaurant.

After firing some gunshots in air, the miscreants took the businessmen at gunpoint and looted Rs 9 lakh from them. On getting information a police team led by Balasore DSP (I/c) Manoj Kumar Rout reached the spot and have initiated a probe into the matter.

Similarly, six bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 19.5 lakh at gunpoint from a private bank employee in Nimapara of Puri district.
