Jagatsinghpur: Taking up further his today’s hectic electioneering here in this parliamentary constituency, BJD supremo-cum-Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today lambasted that BJP is only interested in the votes of the people of Odisha not in their well-being.

Addressing the public of Ersama-Balikuda assembly constituency, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ridiculed, “Are only the votes of Odisha’s people valuable for BJP, not their well-being? The Prime Minister has visited Odisha 10 times in a month. But he didn’t visit even once in the last five years during the hard times of the people of Odisha, be it flood, cyclone and other natural calamities.”

Going nostalgic, Naveen reminisced, “Ersama visit reminds me of the 1999 Super Cyclone. Whole Odisha had gone devastated. Lots of life and property got damaged. The Super Cyclone was the saddest moment of my life. I had taken a pledge then that not a single life should get eliminated. Hence, I tried my level best. Today, Odisha is an ideal State in the field of disaster management in the entire country. The United Nations has also endorsed us.”

Putting forth some data for the people’s consideration, the regional satrap stated, “Hon’ble Prime Minister had visited Andhra for Hudhud on October 14, 2014, had visited Bihar for flood on August 26, 2017, had visited Gujarat on July 25, 2017 for flood, had visited Assam on August 1, 2017 and had also visited Kerala on August 18, 2018 for the flood.”

Stating further, “My dear people of Odisha encountered cyclones and floods, in 2014 Hudhud, in 2015 acute drought, in 2017 dreadful flood and in 2018 encountered both Titli and flood,” the Odisha Chief Minister questioned, “Did the Prime Minister visit Odisha?”

Taking a dig at the BJP’s poster boy, the BJD chief remarked, “Didn’t turn up.”

Naveen exuded confidence, “After the third phase election, the people have already decided to have BJD Government in Odisha.”

“4.5 people of Odisha are my family. I’ll keep on serving you till my last breath. Bless me and cast your vote for the conch symbol,” appealed the BJD supremo-cum-Chief Minister.

Besides campaigning in Ersama-Balikuda assembly constituency, Naveen Patnaik later campaigned in Mohakalpada assembly constituency under Kendrapada parliamentary constituency.

Later on, he held road show from Hariabanka, Mohakalpada via Marsaghai canal bridge, Marsaghai, via Haldigada, Patkura, Garadpur, Kalabuda, Korua, Mahala, Chandolo, Derabish, Chhata and Jantilo.

As per his itinerary, he will also hold road show in Kendrapada town in the evening hours, will have darshan of Baldev Jew during the road show and have night halt at Jantilo inspection bungalow (IB).
