Cuttack: Purighat police on Tuesday registered a case against Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) vice-president Manjeet Das for allegedly abusing Kendrapara MP and actor Anubhav Mohanty.

Das has been booked under multiple Sections of the IPC over a complaint lodged by Anubhav’s personal security officer (PSO). The actor-turned politician’s PSO filed a written complaint against Das accusing him of threatening the Parliamentarian.

Das today reached the Purighat police station for recording of his statement, after being summoned by police.

Earlier on Monday, Anubhav accused Das abuses him in public. On the other hand, Manjeet has denied the allegations and said that it was the MP who misbehaved with him.

Reacting on the matter, senior BJD leader Debasis Samantray said that it was an internal dispute between the two. "I do not want to interfere in this issue as it is a personal matter. However, if anyone of them reports this to me I will look into it," he said.
