Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Anti-Terrorism Day being observed across the nation in memory of former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi, who was brutally assassinated by LTTE suicide squad over two decades ago, the senior police officials and employees of Odisha Police took a solemn pledge against terrorism at their State Headquarters in Cuttack city today.
They all vowed to fight against the perpetrators of terrorism and violence as well as wage war against the anti-social elements those who pose a danger to our national ethos, integration and tolerance.
Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Binoytosh Mishra administered the anti-terrorism pledge to all the police officials and employees present on the occasion.
The Solemn Pledge Taken:
“We, the people of India, having abiding faith in our country’s tradition of non-violence and tolerance, hereby solemnly affirm to oppose with our strength, all forms of terrorism and violence. We pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony, and understand among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values.”
Assistant Commandant Dipak Kumar Gadnayak conducted the special programme at the Odisha Police State Headquarters, as per a press note.
