Anti-Corruption Overdrive: Odisha CM Dismisses 6, Pensions Of 5 Stopped

Bhubaneswar: In line with his zero-tolerance policy towards corruption Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dismissed six officials from their service and permanently stopped pension benefits of five officials.

The dismissed officials are Rabindra Kumar Das, Assistant Engineer, Works department, Kudumuluguma block, Malkangiri; Budhiram Suniani, Junior Engineer, Panchayati Raj department, Dhankauda block, Sambalpur; Suresh Chandra Mishra, Progress Assistant, Papdahandi Block, Nabarangpur; Hemant Kumar Panda, Forest Range Officer, Working Plan Office, Forest department, Angul; Pruthviraj Lenka, Assistant Executive Engineer, Works department, NH Division, Berhampur; and Sushil Kumar Seth, Assistant Engineer, Water Resources department, Hatadihi Block, Keonjhar.

The five whose pensions have been permanently stopped include three retired Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers.

They are Nabin Seth, retired OAS officer and former Executive Officer, Bargarh Municipality; Sanatan Sethi, retired OAS officer and former BDO, Khandapada block, Nayagarh; Purandhar Pujari, retired OAS officer, former RTO, Koraput; Niranjan Jena, retired Assistant Engineer, Works department RW subdivision, Bonai, Sundargarh; and Pitambar Pratihari, former Junior Engineer, Khunta block, Mayurbhanj.

In the last two months, 44 officials have been dismissed, pensions of 11 have been stopped permanently and ten have been given compulsory retirement said an official release issued by the Chief Minister's Office.

These officials have been convicted by the State Vigilance on corruption charges.
