Another Cyclone Approaching Odisha Just 'Wild Guess'

Bhubaneswar: Days after landfall of extremely severe cyclonic storm FANI in Odisha, gossip about another cyclone approaching the State is making rounds, which was rubbished by Director of Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas, on Saturday.

Biwas said that no reports have been received by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) till date however, as low pressure area which triggers local monsoon forms mostly in the end of May the people may be taking a wild guess of another cyclone.

It is worthwhile to mention that 14 districts of Odisha faced the wrath of FANI after it made its landfall on May 3. While it has affected over 1.5 crore people in the districts, the death toll due to the menace presently stands at 43.
