Paralakhemundi: Yet another betting racket allegedly running in Garabandha village under Paralakhemundi police limits of Gajapati district was busted on Thursday with the arrest of 10 persons.

Reportedly, after getting information that some persons are gambling at back side of Srinivas rice mill in Garabandha, a 5-member team on night patrolling duty conducted raid at the place and apprehended the accused.

Police also seized two packets of playing cards and Rs 43,740 cash from their possession in presence of two witnesses.

The accused were identified as P Venkat Rao (29), G Manoj Kumar (29), K Siba Kumar (22), K Siva (24), K Nagraju (31), S Suresh (49), K Srinibasa Rao (49), U Debaraj Reddy (36), N Manikantha (19) and M Daleya (38), all residents of Garabandha.

Meanwhile, they have been booked under section 3 of Odisha Prevention of Gambling Act and forwarded to the court of Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM), Paralakhemundi.
