Anjali Children's Festival Attracts Participation Of Youth

Bhubaneswar: Started as a platform to display the talents of differently-abled children, Anjali Children's Festival gradually attracted participation of able-bodied children nationally and globally and christened as Anjali International Children’s Festival.

The annual festival has in its 18th edition attracted the participation of youths and has been rechristened as Anjali International Children and Youth Festival. It commenced on the occasion of Children's Day on November 14 and will continue till November 17.

Brainchild of Dr. Sruti Mohapatra, Founder of Swabhiman, Anjali had started its journey with 77 children in Bhubaneswar and now children from 30 districts of Odisha, 27 States of India and seven countries across the globe have participated in it.

Like every year, the 18th edition of Anjali started with the 'Carnvival of Love' on November 14. Various activities including workshops, competitions, festival of joy, evening cultural programmes, awards, felicitations, City Embraces Anjali and City Tour will be part of the festival till November 17.

This year children from eight districts of Odisha, 12 States of India and an international team from Bangladesh are participating in the Anjali International Children’s Festival.

Other than displaying their skills in the festival, the children and youth are learning various skills at dance workshop, song workshop, art and craft workshop. They are also learning Terracotta pottery, magic, clowning, etc.

The children are also participating in various competitions. All the children attending Anjali International Children’s Festival receive a certificate of appreciation and Memento. Winners are awarded different kinds of prizes and as youth have participated for the first time, a cash prize has also been introduced for them.
