Amphan Changes Direction, Now 125 Kms East Southeast Of Paradip: IMD

Bhubaneswar: Extremely severe cyclone Amphan now lays centred at 125 kilometres East Southeast of Paradip. The direction of the cyclone has changed, said Director of Indian Meteorological Department, Bhubaneswar Centre, HR Biswas.

As per IMD's National bulletin released 8:30 am, Amphan was about 155 km south-southeast of Paradip (Odisha).

"Currently, the cyclone is 225 kms south of Digha. Amphan is moving North North-eastward at a speed of 14 kmph," added Biswas.

The wind speed at the centre is 170 to 180 kmph. As per our observation, the wind speed at Paradip is 102 kmph. Chandbali 74, Bhubaneswar 37, Balasore 61, Puri 41 and Gopalpur 4 - kilometres per hour. 

The rainfall measured at different locations (in mm) - Paradip 208, Chandbali 67, Bhubaneswar 46.5, Balasore 56.5, Puri 87.0 and Gopalpur 8.6, Biswas added.
