Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view a large demand for enrollment into the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme, the State Government extended the last date of application to January 15.

Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment Department, Saurabh Garg today said that in case there is a scarcity of the 'Green Forms', the eligible beneficiaries can photocopy a form, fill and drop it in the 'Green Boxes'.

"No one should be apprehensive of missing out on applying. If some of the farmers are missed out, then they can opt for the second phase and apply for the programme," Garg said.

Speaking on the irregularities in distribution of forms, Garg said that the State Government is taking the matter seriously and the unscrupulous elements will be dealt strongly.

The State Government has urged the farmers to download the 'Green Forms' from the website of KALIA Scheme www.kalia.co.in, print them and fill them up as their application.

They can also take the photocopies of the 'Green Forms' available with other villagers or farmers and after duly filling the papers drop them in the 'Green Boxes'.

KALIA Scheme was launched by the State Government on December 22, with an objective to accelerate agricultural prosperity and reduce poverty across Odisha.

The State Government has also urged all the small and marginal farmers, cultivators, vulnerable agriculture households and landless agriculture labourers to visit office of every gram panchayat and join KALIA Scheme as per the laid down eligibility criteria.
