Malkangiri: Tribal-dominated Malkangiri district in Odisha is yet to get a railway station let alone an aerodrome but students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Chalanguda village get to visit Air India almost six days a week.

Air India here is not the flag carrier airline of India but their school. The design on the outer walls and doors of the school represents an on-flight aircraft. Through this students entering their classrooms get the feel of boarding an aircraft.

The school have been painted in this manner under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan's Learning Enhancement Programme to let the students have an idea about an aircraft or aeroplane. Through this the school has recorded an increase in attendance and have earned praises from all.
