Angul: In what can be termed 'inhuman', a man abandoned his horse after using the animal for commercial purposes and left it to die. The incident has occurred in Angul's Rantalei area.

As per reports, a man from Madhya Pradesh reached the district few months back with four horses. He set up a temporary camp at a grassfield near Panchamala and used to rent the horses for Hindu weddings, informed sources.

15 days back, a black horse was taken unwell. Instead of taking care of it, locals said that the man abandoned the horse and left it on its own. The clueless animal wandered off the field and was found by some villagers, who tried to treat it but in vain.

After being in pain for two days, the animal breathed its last and was found dead on the roadside of National Highway on Friday. The owner's careless attitude has drawn faced public ire but before the locals could confront him, the man had already left the village with the three other horses.
