Bhubaneswar: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment of the State government today organized a one-day workshop on 'Capacity Building, Strengthening of Delivery Mechanism under Mo Sarkar and 5T Initiative' at the Rail Auditorium here.
The workshop was organized by the department for its employees working at its State-level offices.
"The workshop has been organized on 5T and Mo Sarkar. It has three components-capacity building, strengthening of delivery mechanism and motivation," said Arun Kumar Sahu, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment addressing the workshop after inaugurating it by lighting a lamp.
He said that the workshop has been organized for employees of the State-level offices.
"State-level employees are the nucleus, they are the brain. Directions will be issued from State-level offices to field-level officers who will work efficiently for farmers with extra professional vigour, motivate them for taking up cultivation of new crops and accept new agricultural practices," the Minister explained.
"Development of farmers will lead to the socio-economic development of the State," he added.
Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Saurabh Garg in his address to the participants said that Odisha is now recognized for its achievements in the agriculture sector and there is a need to take it to the next level.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment department has been brought under the purview of Mo Sarkar programme from December 1, this year which was formally launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on December 12.
