Advance Cardiac Unit Coming Up In Capital Hospital

Bhubaneswar: An Advanced Cardiac Unit is to be set up at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar informed Health Minister Naba Kishore Das during a surprise visit to the hospital in accordance with the implementation of 5T charter and Mo Sarkar initiative of the State Government.

The Minister said that it is a part of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's dream of providing 'Health Care For All'. Accompanied by HOD of Cardiology department of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Bangalore, Dr Prabhat Kumar Dash, he visited the Cardiology department of Capital Hospital and later had a discussion with the hospital authorities.

Dr Dash informed that discussion had been held on establishing the best centre of Cardiology in State. Accordingly, he along with the Minister took stock of the infrastructure at the Capital Hospital and how it can be expanded.

Capital Hospital Director Dr Ashok Kumar Pattnaik said that presently many cardiac patients visiting the hospital are being referred to hospitals outside the State. The Health Minister and Dr Dash reviewed the facilities and as per their recommendations the cardiac unit will be expanded which will benefit the people of Odisha.
