Bhubaneswar: The absence of PSOs (Personal Security Officers) provided to the Bhubaneswar-Central assembly seat candidates of both BJD and BJP, during the bomb attacks on them last night, will be enquired into, said Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty on Monday.

Mohanty informed that the Commissionerate Police has considered the matter gravely and a probe is underway to identify the culprits involved in the incident. Meanwhile, the security of the candidates, who faced the attacks, has been beefed up. Earlier they had been provided with PSOs, but now they have been provided escorts with vehicle.

Last night, former Bhubaneswar Mayor and BJD’s Bhubaneswar-Central MLA candidate Ananta Narayan Jena was critically injured in a bombing near Jharpada canal road under Laxmisagar police limits. Jena was attacked few hours after miscreants hurled bombs at the vehicle of Jagannath Pradhan, the BJP candidate for Bhubaneswar (Central) assembly, near Delta Square under Nayapalli police limits.
