Baripada: A newborn girl child was rescued from Singada forest under Raruan police limits here on Sunday. According to sources, the baby is barely three days old.
She was first spotted by a group of woodcutters at around 4 pm today. They reported the matter to police which arranged an ambulance for the newborn's rescue.
The baby has been shifted to Karanjia sub-divisional hospital. According to the doctors, she is stable and responding to the medical treatment.
Further investigation is on to ascertain how and who abandoned the infant in a dense forest.
