Puri: In a bid to finalise rate chart of ‘Mahaprasad’/ ‘Abadha’ at Srimandir (Lord Jagannath Temple) here, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) carried out the preparation on experimental basis today so that they could study the expenditure borne on raw materials and labour.

Today’s experiment was based on a decision taken at a meeting held between Suar Mahasuar Nijog and Collector Jyoti Prakash Dash yesterday, sources said.

As per the decision, ‘Abadha’ was prepared in the Kotha Bhoga Rosasala today. The temple administration provided with all the raw materials required for the Abadha preparation.

After the experiment, the fist meeting regarding it was held with SJTA, Suar Mahasuar Nijog and the Collector. After the meeting, a member of the Suar Mahasuar Nijog informed, "The rate-chart will be finalised after thorough examination by the officials. It has also been decided that the rates will change according to fluctuations in prices of raw material in the market."

Reports further said that SJTA, after taking into consideration the entire expenditure, will announce the rate chart which is slated to be displayed at Anand Bazaar on the temple premises for the devotees purchasing ‘Abadha’.
