Bhubaneswar: Reviewing the activities of Odisha Medical Corporation (OMC), Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das today directed to purchase world-class equipment for the government-run hospitals as the State Government has taken a decision in this regard. He also directed the OMC to purchase the equipment as per the recommendations of the expert committee.
He also instructed that the ‘latest’ model instead of the traditional ‘specification’ will be inspected henceforth while purchasing the instruments.
He further instructed that stress should be laid on the timely delivery by the eligible companies. If not delivered within the deadline set by the State Government, the company as well as the agency should be blacklisted.
The Minister also today reviewed the ongoing ‘Sunetra Yojana’. While mobile vans under this scheme have been pressed into service in eight districts, the mobile vans are to be extended to 10 more districts. The added districts are Sonepur, Angul, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam and Sundargarh. This will be launched in the first week of September.
While the lazer treatment for the children under this Sunetra Yojana’ has already been started in Capital Hospital, it will be extended to all the government medical colleges.
Besides, all the government medical colleges will provide ‘High End’ diagnostic facilities to the patients under the ‘Nidan Yojana’.
The Health Minister also directed the officials to keep a strict vigil on food items and drinking water for the next three-four monsoon season months, stated a press note, released by the Health Department.
