Convening a press conference today here, CID CB (STF) SP Rahul P.R informed, “When the illegal quarry business of Khurda was busted by STF, we received information that some of the culprits are also into narcotics business. Importing narcotics substances like brown sugar from outside, they distribute in the local areas. Our investigation was on to find out the linkages of that business as well as its seizure.”

He added, “Yesterday we have nabbed three accused. We have seized illegal brown sugar from their possession. Along with that, we have also seized a country-made pistol from their possession. They were on their way to Khurda area for the delivery of narcotics substance. They are dealing in this business habitually.”

“These arrested persons were on their way to supply it to some persons involved in the illegal mining business,” he asserted.

The STF top cop also stated, “We have been successful in busting the illegally quarrying business as well as establish the link with narcotics business. Now our priority is to unravel the source of procurement of narcotics, linked criminals and financial flow.”
