Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 claims its first casualty in Odisha. A 72-yr-old male belonging to Jharpada had been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on 4th April with a complaint of respiratory distress. He had a history of chronic hypertension. He expired on 6th April. He was tested positive for Covid 19.

Contact tracing and containment is ongoing.
Till now, 42 persons had been tested positive in Odisha, with 2 recovered and one casualty.
Odisha has been on its toes for battling coronavirus with several measures taken to contain it. Authorities have sealed the hot spot areas to prevent the virus from spreading further.
Seven exclusive Covid-19 facilities are now operating in Odisha. A 500-bed facility in SUM Hospital Bhubaneswar, a 457-bed facility at KIMS Medical College, Bhubaneswar, a 200-bed facility at Hi-Tech Medical College Rourkela, 150 beds facility at Ashwini Hospital Cuttack, 150 beds facility at TATA Hospital Duburi, 50 beds at TATA Hospital Joda, and 40 beds at IDH Puri.
