Bhubaneswar: As the tempratures have started to soar, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will set up 87 temporary drinking water kiosks (jalchatras) for pedestrians in the city.

Municipal Commissioner Samarth Verma said that this year the water kiosks will be setup up earlier, by the end of March. "We are on a discussion with NGOs and sorted 87 locations where the 'jalchatras' will be setup," he said.

Things such as earthen pots and tumblers will be provided by the municipal corporation, while the manpower will be taken care of by the private parties. This apart, all the water ATMs and RO units will be made fully functional for convenience of commuters and pedestrians, added Verma.
